Scholarship Life in Thailand
I can say, I am proud to get scholarship in abroad, and this is what I desire to get as well. There are a lot benefits that I have gained when living here.
First, I learn how freedom is when I live independently. Like I can decide to do and buy what i want to since I am financially independent. More than that, i know how to manage my budget. I must be good at budget management if not at the end of each month, i will end up with borrowing others' money. I have learned a new thing which is paying list, sth like I have to list down things i have spent my money with to control how much i should spend per day. Especially, I can stay out late at night. sometimes i went to drink with some guys, and stay until midnight. when coming back to my place, no one won't allow to enter my room, hahhahaha. No doubt, I can sense the feeling of totally freedom, doing my own things, buy my own staffs, stay late at night, and self management.
Second, I learn to priority my time, so called time management. To be good at time management, I set up a schedule or To Do List. list down what I must do today, and what is the most priority thing that I must complete. There are many things that i want to do, but if i don't write them down and priority them, i somehow feel lazy to do it. like you can imagine that when you face a mountain of tasks, you will absolute quite to do them coz they make you feel stress. but if you break them (mountain of tasks) into pieces, and do it one by one, it is much easier, and friendlier.
Third, I can cook the food, learn to cook by my own, which mean I can feed myself. as a fortunteller told me that I have my own potential in cooking. oh la la la, I am good at cooking like my father. Oh can't say good but eatable. Now i just know how hard it is to cook a meal/ a dish. thus from now on, I won't make complain with my father anymore for his cook.

protest, after she held talks with the two sides.
MONYWA, Myanmar - Opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi on Friday demanded
an apology for monks hurt in a violent police crackdown at a Chinese copper
mine protest, after she held talks with the two sides.
The
Nobel laureate sought to mediate an end to the standoff, which saw scores of villagers
and monks injured in the toughest clampdown on demonstrators since a new
reform-minded government took power last year.
Images of monks lying in hospital beds with severe burns have stoked
public anger over the rough treatment, which had echoes of violent crackdowns
that were the hallmark of decades of junta rule.
"We know that police officials are responsible for what happened
but we need to know why they did it," Suu Kyi told reporters on Friday,
during a visit to the area. "I think the monks need an apology."
In
an attempt to cool anti-Chinese sentiment, however, the veteran dissident
struck a conciliatory tone towards Beijing and declined to back calls for an
immediate halt to work on the Monywa mine in northern Myanmar.
"We have never regarded the People's Republic of China as our
benefactor. But it is our neighbouring country so we want to be a friend,"
she added.
In
an attempt to find a solution to the dispute, Suu Kyi held separate meetings with
officials from the mine operator followed by police and local residents opposed
to the project.
The
pro-democracy leader, who is now a lawmaker, said afterwards that she hoped a
parliamentary commission that was recently approved by MPs would be set up
"as soon as possible" and would include local villagers.
Opponents are calling for work at the mine -- a joint venture between
Chinese firm Wanbao and military-owned Myanmar Economic Holdings -- to be
suspended to allow environmental and social impact studies.
But
Suu Kyi backed the government's argument that the impact of the mine cannot be
properly assessed if there is no work under way.
"We can only assess the project if it is not stopped," she
said. "We need to assess whether the implementation of the project is
really harmful for the region," she said.
Protesters allege mass evictions have taken place to make way for the
mine while China insists that the contentious points had already been resolved.
"Issues such as relocation,
compensation, environmental protection and profit sharing... were jointly
settled through negotiations by the two sides and meet Myanmar's laws and
regulations," the Chinese embassy in Yangon said in a statement.
Activists said about 100 people were injured
in the crackdown.
Several monks were in a "critical condition", according to
pro-democracy campaigner Myo Thant of the 88 Generation Students group.
It
was unclear exactly what caused the wounded protesters' burns but President
Thein Sein's office denied local media allegations that some kind of chemical
weapon was used.
In a
statement Thursday it said that water cannon, tear gas and smoke bombs were
deployed against the protesters, but later retracted the statement without
giving a reason.
In a
sign of spreading tensions, about 200 monks staged a rally in the central city
of Mandalay on Friday demanding an apology from the government.
"We strongly condemn the crackdown on the monks. Many were
seriously injured," monk Thawbita, one of the leaders of the protest at a
pagoda in Mandalay, told AFP by telephone.
"This kind of sit-down protest by monks will continue around the
country in the coming days until they apologise," he said.

LABOUR SHORTAGE HOLDS BACK NEW PROJECTS

The construction industry’s lack of
workers has resulted in many projects not being able to expand, says the
Construction Institute of Thailand (CIT).
Chaporn Oonjitt, executive director
of the CIT, which is under the Industry Ministry, said some works, especially
housing projects, have been delayed, while developers have been reluctant to
take on new ones.
The supply of labour is not
sufficient to support the large number of public and private projects being
launched this year and next year, said Mr Chakporn. He said the construction sector is
expected to grow by 15% this year, with an estimated investment value exceeding
900 billion baht.
“[The industry] cannot speed up
expansion due to a shortage of 300,000 workers,” said Mr. Chakporn.
The National Statistical Office said
the industrial sector requires an average of 2.3 to 2.6 million workers per
year, but the demand this year is as high as 2.9 million, as several projects
are expanding.“We must also admit the Thai labour
force is ageing and new workers entering the pool usually choose jobs in the
service sector rather than manufacturing,” said Mr Chakporn.
The construction sector is usually considered
by outsiders as hard work despite the private sector’s efforts to replace human
labour with technology. The CIT is joining hands with the
Labour Ministry to come up with positions that require specialized knowledge
such as tower crane controllers, machinery controllers and construction
smelters.
It is also cooperating with
educational institutes to propose ways to develop a curriculum to prepare
qualified new workers for the construction sector.The curriculum will be proposed to
the Education Ministry.The labour ministry may allow entry
to more low –skilled migrant workers from Myanmar and Cambodia. Mr Chakporn said the construction
industry will also be affected by Myanmar urging its workers living abroad to
return home to support the building of new sport stadiums and infrastructure in
preparation for the SEA Games next year.
AS MANY AS 100, 000 Myanmar workers
will be required for these projects. More than 200, 000 workers in the
construction sector are foreigners, mostly from Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.
Some 400 CIT members need 100, 000 foreign workers.
“The average age of workers in the
industry is getting higher, as the younger generation is not interested in
working in this sector,” said Mr. Chakporn.

MY diary today
I have nobody else who i can share my sad story. Now, There is only you.
Today I got problem with my Questionnaire with my co-adviser. What the hell? he said I couldn't adopt the researching tool from other authors. so he continued I have to create it by my own. To adapt or adopt is to make copy from other people's work which is so called plagiarism.
This is the new thing for new that i have just learned from him.
I still don't believe . So tmr I have to consult this problem with B. Vichea and my Adviser. Hope I would get positive answers. OH! Buddha helps me.

Love means to me
When coming to the word LOVE, I am really afraid of. even to think about because I used to be disappointed twice because of love.
Love in novel is like a perfect love. Love forever means loving her for your whole life and is kind of eternity love. For example, it is like love of Tum and Teav ; Romeo and Julie.
Anyway as i remember, when finishing watching Romeo and Julie during the course of Literature of lect. Tith Mab, I felt depressed because of its sad ending.I forgot why i felt like this but to see both couple died, I felt desperate. I didn't want the result like this. It taught us what is so called "Love for the first sigh like Tum and Teav" and Love is blind : both partner dared to die when each of them died coz they didn't want to live in this world a lone.
Live is blind. For example, when you admitted to someone that you love her but she rejected you. and you decided to commit suicide by jump off Spien Chroy Changva. That's a blind love.

My delighted day
Today I am so delighted coz I have accomplished what I want to complete. Moreover, I have been asked to apply for a position in training and development department of Canadia Bank. I felt very exited, wow I was offered for a job. My hard study is paid off now. Thanks god that they accepted my request and ask me to do a job- the job that I really want to do.
Anyway I am looking forward for their promise of sending info related number of front-line staff working in Canadia Bank Headquarters. I feel that I am in the middle of success now. I get more motivated to study hard coz it is valuable and i see its result now. Thz thaz thz sopheak.
My tomorrow tasks:
1. Look for my Journal book since year 1
2. Go to Pagnasastra libray to look for strategy management book.
3. Go to Acleda bank to create account
4. wait for my important mail. je he !!! The deadline is in the evening around 3:30pm

Recommendations for Cancer Prevention
These ten recommendations for cancer prevention are drawn from the WCRF/AICR Second Expert Report. Each recommendation links to more details.- Be as lean as possible without becoming underweight.
- Be physically active for at least 30 minutes every day.
- Avoid sugary drinks. Limit consumption of energy-dense foods.
- Eat more of a variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and legumes such as beans.
- Limit consumption of red meats (such as beef, pork and lamb) and avoid processed meats.
- If consumed at all, limit alcoholic drinks to 2 for men and 1 for women a day.
- Limit consumption of salty foods and foods processed with salt (sodium).
- Don't use supplements to protect against cancer.
- * It is best for mothers to breastfeed exclusively for up to 6 months and then add other liquids and foods.
- * After treatment, cancer survivors should follow the recommendations for cancer prevention.

But a lot of cancer is preventable, according to a panel of experts who've reviewed the available scientific evidence about cancer, diet and exercise, and come up with some guidelines as to how we can lower cancer rates.
Over five years, scientists working for the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) from nine universities in four countries looked at the available research and published their findings in a report called Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity, and the Prevention of Cancer. There's a summary of it and an editorial in last month's British Medical Journal by a professor of cancer research at Oxford University. But if you don't have time to read that, or the report itself, here follows a summary.
What emerges is that for all our progress in medical science and technology, we still don't know much about cancer. We know how it happens – a genetic mutation in a cell's DNA causes it to reproduce out of control. But why it happens, and why some organs in some people and not others, is largely a mystery.
We do know that our lifestyle has a lot to do with whether this happens and in whom – very few cancers are actually inherited. So modifying our lifestyle will reduce our chances of cancer by up to a third.
First, we need to do something about obesity – it's a major cause of cancers of the oesophagus, colon and rectum, pancreas, breast, endometrium, and kidneys. Our body mass index should ideally lie between 21 and 23. Instead, the Australian average is about 27 – too high, and it's been that way since the 1940s. So we need to shed those kilos with exercise and caloric restriction – a weight loss diet.
Secondly, exercise. Quite apart from helping to lose weight, being fit seems to have an anti-cancer effect in itself. The researchers recommend 30 minutes of moderate physical exercise – like brisk walking – a day, and once we're fit, then 30 minutes of vigorous physical activity or 60 minutes of moderate exercise a day.
Next, our dietary intake. We need to be careful about how much alcohol we drink – it increases the risk for cancers of the mouth, pharynx, larynx, oesophagus, colon and rectum, and breast; and also causes cirrhosis, which raises the risk of liver cancer. Men shouldn't drink more than two standard drinks of alcohol a day and women no more than one a day.
What about fruit and vegetables? They probably protect against several cancers, though it's hard to say just which ones or why fruit and vegetables are protective. We should eat at least five portions of vegetables and fruits each day, the researchers say. The Australian dietary recommendations suggest five serves of vegetables and two serves of fruit each day. Most people eat only about three portions a day.
Probably the most surprising finding was that red meat and processed meat were convincingly linked to colorectal cancer. On average, if you eat large amounts of red or processed meat you have about a 30 per cent increased risk of colorectal cancer compared with someone who eats little or none. And the more meat you eat, the greater the risk. The council recommended individuals should eat less than 500 grams* of red meat a week and try to avoid processed meats such as bacon, ham, salami, corned beef and some sausages.
On the other hand, meat is a terrific source of protein, as the meat industry never tires of reminding us, so there is a role for meat in the diet, but it should be limited.
Legumes such as beans, lentils and soybeans, which contain protein, are good substitutes. Cut out processed and preserved meats such as bacon, sausages, pate and salami as much as possible. The sulfites and other additives may cause colorectal cancer.
Foods high in folate may reduce the risk of cancer of the pancreas, and diets high in calcium may reduce the risk of bowel cancer, say the researchers. Other recommendations include:
- limit consumption of salt
- don't take vitamin supplements – you don't need them and some have been linked to cancer
- mothers should breastfeed babies for the first six months: breastfeeding protects women against breast and other cancers.
